5 reasons you haven’t booked your Family Photoshoot yet.

How often do we find ourselves talking about something but never getting round to actually doing it. We all do it and sometime kick ourselves for doing it for too long and missing out on an opportunity.

You’re a parent or a parent to be ….. that means you’re a busy person and if you’re anything like me you have a to do list for your to do list, you’re trying to keep to a schedule, keep the house tidy, not fall behind in the WhatsApp group messages and just generally juggling all the things that come with having a family, partner and job.

Whether it’s a maternity photoshoot, newborn photoshoot, family photoshoot or baby photoshoot these are five common reasons people haven’t gotten round to booking their photoshoot yet.

  1. Time - as parents we never have enough hours in the day or days in the week to do everything we think we can do, often with the to do list growing rather then getting any shorter.

Start following some photographers you like on social media, narrow it down to the one you like then send them a message, now you are on your way to booking that photoshoot.

2. Uncertainty - how will the kids be, will they smile, what will we all wear, when shall we do it?

These are all common concerns that everyone will have and your photographer will be able to help you with whether it be with a styling guide, put your mind at ease or by guiding you through the whole process - this is what they do and what they do best, don’t be afraid to ask questions.

3. Self confidence - how will I look in the photos - this is exactly what I think every time my husband takes a photo of me. I get it completely and as a family photographer will always to what I can to reassure you, hype you up and make sure you all look fabulous in every photo.

4. Cost - the cost of a photoshoot can vary between the type of family photoshoot you would like and then between different family photographers. Perhaps consider starting with a mini photoshoot, ask for gift vouchers for upcoming birthdays or Christmas, see if a photographer has a payment plan to spread the cost.

5. Where - home, studio or location - choose what best suits your family, I cover this topic in another blog giving you points to consider and the pros and cons of each option, you can find it here -

Remember - Children grow and change so fast. Those early years fly by. And as they continue to grow so does their personality and character. And don’t forget you as an adult too, capture you as you journey through parenthood.

Please don’t let this time slip away for too long without capturing it in time forever - you won’t regret it I promise.
